End of Life Care and Euthanasia

At Durham Animal Hospital, we are committed to offering the best care to our patients throughout their lives, and that includes ensuring that their last time with us is spent in dignity and comfort.

Sometimes there are further treatment options we can offer that can keep your pet comfortable and extend their quality of life. Other times, through discussion with you, we reach the conclusion that humane euthanasia is the kindest option for a pet that may be suffering, and our compassionate doctors and staff are prepared to guide you through that process.

We understand that this is never a decision that is reached lightly, but we are here for our clients and patients to help provide guidance, advice, and support through the decision-making process, as well as the process of euthanasia itself.
